Regarding the Protection measures for Cetaceans contemplated in Royal Decree (RD) 1727/2007
This recreational activity of whale watching (AROC) is regulated through Royal Decree 1727/2007, of December 21, which establishes protection measures for cetaceans.
Do not intercept the path of the animals.
Do not separate and disperse the group of animals observed, especially if it is a mother and a calf.
Avoid the simultaneous presence of more than three vessels within 200 m. of a cetacean or a group of them.
Keep a distance of at least 60 m. of animals, except in emergency situations or express authorization.
Do not chase or harass animals.
Do not deliberately bathe or dive in the proximity of animals, without express authorization.
Do not throw food or waste next to the animals.
